DIY Spring Banner and My Spring/Easter Mantel

I am seriously IN LOVE with this banner!!!  I hope you love it too!!  I think it perfectly completes my mantel.  It was so easy and a lot of fun to make.

Alie had some really cute flower shaped paper.  I “borrowed” a sheet and used it to trace out some of my own spring colored flowers.

Then I grabbed myself a Slurpee cup and some of my alphabet stickers.  I traced some circles and the word spring.
I began to cut all my shapes out.  Once I got to the letters I noticed this happened. WHOOPS!  I re-traced the letters backwards so that they were forward once I flipped them around.  No biggie, but it made me laugh a little.  I thought maybe you would find it kinda funny too.
Once all my pieces were cut I glued them all together.  I love Love LOVE how colorful and fun they are!
I glued the letters on to a piece of twine and hung my new spring banner on my mantel.

I’ve noticed that the R and G are a little hard to see but I still LOVE it!  What do you think??

I’m linking up my spring mantel to Beth’s Spring Mantel Party!  I hope to see you there!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

  1. I LOVE your mantel! It's so colorful and fun and springy. I love the banner, too. It really works with everything and the other pops of color just help it right along! Love it.

  2. Oh this is so sweet! I found you Via Sugarbees "take a look tuesday" im number 102&103 if you wanted to look too!Im wondering if doing a 'winter banner' (as we are edging into winter in Australia at the moment) will be as beautiful, or if it will just be a reminder of the inherent coldness to come 😛
