Felt Flower Tutorial

There are dozens of felt flower/rose tutorials.  I’ve followed quite a few and THIS is how I make these gorgeous and SIMPLE lil beauties!!
You’ll need:FeltHot Glue Gun and Hot Glue SticksScissorsSomething to trace circles
How’s that for a simple list!!?  I grabbed a bowl for this circle but I’ve been known to use sippy cups too!

Then cut out the traced circle.

For this flower I cut the ends of the circle with scalloped points.

Next you cut a spiral from your circle.

This is one I cut with straight edges.

Next I put a dab of hot glue on the inside end and pinch it together.

Then you start to roll it up. I put a dab of hot glue one side, roll a lil then another dab of glue then roll.

Keep dabbing and rolling…

As I get to the end, to help keep everything secure, I start to put a strip of hot glue instead of just a dab!

Secure the ends and if you have scalloped ends make sure you smooth them out a little.

This is the straight edged rose.

The orange rose is cut with a rounded scalloped edge, the gold one is cut with a light scalloped edge, small brown is straight edged and the large brown is the pointy scalloped edge.

And there you have it!!  My felt rose tutorial!  If you have any questions please ask or if use my tute I would LOVE to know!

Fall Door Decor

I had SO MUCH MORE planned for this, but it just wasn’t in the cards for me this year.  My front porch needs a good power washing and maybe another coat of paint.  Maybe we’ll have it done in time for Christmas.  I am pretty excited about decorating for Christmas this year.  It’s my first time to time decorating a HOUSE as a home decor and craft blogger!!!  Before blogging and before we lost our home in 06 to a fire I THOUGHT I was a great decorator!!  If you could see what I came up with back then.  It’s pretty hilarious and a bit embarrassing!  Thanks to all you awesome creative bloggers out there I’m learning a few tricks!
SO, as I said, I had much more planned for this.  I wanted a table for this basket to sit on.

I have it inside with these two pumpkins.

I has also planned on getting a table or hay bale to sit the pumpkins on.   I went ahead and set them outside the front door wouldn’t look so bare

See Alie posing?? She’s so cute!!
I used my Fall Rosette Wreath I made last fall, my FIRST ever!  I had planned on using my new Fall Yarn Wreath I made, but I liked it better inside.

My front door needs some help too!

I made the fall leaf garland too.  I strung it up real quick to see how it looked and my sweet Alie saw another opportunity to pose for me!

So, there you have it, my fall door decor.  It’s not EVERYTHING I wanted but I still love it.

And there is my sweet cutie again!! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

A Birthday Wish sent to Heaven

On this day in 1999 God blessed us with a precious Angel.  My sweet nephew, Khaleeq.  Khaleeq went to be with our Heavenly Father two years ago, just 7 days after he turned 10.  We miss him so very much.  Below are a few posts I wrote about him last year.
