AliLily | A Package Pals Gift

Do y’all know the sweet and awesomely talented Jamie with C.R.A.F.T.?? She has come up with a FUN idea. Every other month this year she is throwing a package pal party. All you do is let her know you want to join in. She pairs you up with someone. Then you and your partner exchange emails, get to know each other a little better. Make a gift and send it. Jamie even has a link party where you can link up what you made, what you received or both!

I was paired up with Marisa, a self proclaimed nature geek and student at Oregon State. I had a gazillion ideas for things to make her. But I kept running into an issue of, ”now, how would I ship that?” So, I came up with this. I used my silhouette as a stencil and painted these pieces of canvas art for her.

I thought using the Latin names for leaf and nature would be kinda neat. I mean, Latin is what is generally used in the scientific classifications. I thought Marisa would like that. Did you notice I painted the plant ombre style? Ombre is all the rage right now and well, I’m jumping on the bandwagon, too! I LOVE IT!

It was my mommy’s birthday yesterday. I made her a purple OMBRE cake! I can’t wait to show y’all!!

Here is another shot of the painted canvas art. OH and guess what! These are my FIRST painted pieces! I really like them. What do y’all think? I’m thinking I’d like to make some for my own home.

Marisa also told me about her sweet one eyed border collie named Shadow, who she lovingly called her baby.

So, I made her another canvas art piece for her sweet Shadow. Now, this one is all free hand. Which should explain it’s slight child like look. AND….did you notice that paw? 5 pads? FIVE? I’m not sure what kind of animal has 5 pads. A bear maybe? Yep, I wasn’t so happy with this one. I wanted to go back and stencil it but I didn’t have another piece of canvas. My sweet hubs told me it looked great and not to worry. He said, “babe, she’s going to love it! She’s going to love that you remembered her baby.” Gosh, I love him. I hope he’s right!!

As a jewelry maker I could NOT send her gifts without making some jewelry for her. I’m always afraid that my gift recipient would be disappointed if I left that craft out. I mean, it is my crafting forte!

With Marisa being a nature lover I decided to make her a nature inspired bracelet and earring set.

I made a pretty nature inspired gift box for the set to sit in.

I added one felt and one burlap rosette to the box.

I wrapped up each piece of the canvas art.

I packed it all up and shipped to her. I hope she loves everything! Even the 5 padded paw print!! lol.
