I’ve noticed that my sense of style for my home revolves around Alice. Last year I went with soft pretty pastels, as Alice was still in toddler mode. She had a sweet soft squeaky voice. She wore lots of soft pastels. This year the sweet squeaky voice is a little bit more grown up. She likes to wear bright happy colors. She’s rambunctious, full of life and always happy. She is definitely a CHEERY kind of girl. I noticed all this last night while I was taking pictures of the mantel and thinking of last years.
I used an old sheet that once belonged to my precious nephew Khaleeq. Khaleeq is now a precious angel in Heaven above. With this, my wreath now has a sweet sentimental value doesn’t it? My hubby gave me the idea to add the pom pom flowers and ladybugs. I especially love the ladybugs, they are Alice’s favorite. Her nursery was all ladybugs and she was even a ladybug for her first Halloween. The wreath was just too small to hang on the shutters by itself. So, I made a pennant banner from the sheet. I love the way they look together.
I plan on writing up a tutorial on how to make this wreath later this weekend. It’s so easy, y’all will LOVE it!
I use more of Khaleeq’s sheet and wrapped these candles. I left the burlap on a couple of the candles I had decorated for Valentine’s day and added matching green flowers.
I added our Bless this Family piece my hubby bought next to the candles.
For the other side, I added an antique glass bottle that was once my Grandma’s, a couple little glass jars filled with green glass beads and tied with burlap, an Easter cross I found at Walmart and my newly painted candle holder (sometimes cake stand) with a sweet bright red ceramic bird on top.
Here is my spring mantel all together!
What do y’all think?? I’m really happy with it! Make sure you come back later this week to see how to make this cute wreath.
