Easy Tutu Tutorial and 10 Princess Crafts

It’s National Princess Week!  Did you know that?  As a mother of a princess I feel terrible that I didn’t.  So, my appoligies for this being a little late as princess week is already in full swing.

Now, it’s the First Annual National Princess Week, so we are excused a little bit for not knowing ahead of time.  I thought it might be fun to find some crafts for Alie and I to do.  I wanted a share some of the fun stuff I found.  But first up, let me show y’all how to make a simple quick tutu that is PERFECT for Princess Week!

Here is what you need:

tulle

thick elastic

scissors

Cut tulle into strips.  Mine here are about 25 inches and I used 3 strips at a time.

Find the middle of your tulle and wined around your first two fingers like this.

Grab your elastic band.

Place the tulle you’re holding underneath the elastic band like this.

Pull the ends up and catch them with your first two fingers, right in front of the loop.

Pull the ends thru the loop.

Then pull it tight to create a knot.  The elastic tends to roll when you do this. It’s so biggie just flatten it out.   Repeat this for all the strips you have.

And…. VIOLA!  You have a  fun tutu!!

Those are her princess poses!  Too cute, right?

  1. I will have to add Princess Week to the calendar, especially with the niece on the way. Alie is an adorable princess and looks like she loves the tutu you made!
