Let me tell y’all, Alie has been running all over the house for days with this Olympic torch we made. She’s even made a few more for her friends. I first saw the idea here. Adapted that idea but had Alie color the papers first. I gave her color coordinating colored pencils and let her have at it!
This is what you will need:
red, yellow and orange tissue paper
white copy/print paper
tape
colored pencils/crayons/markers
hot glue
I originally planned to have Alie put the gold glitter on the cone but I decided against it.
After she colored the page I put together the “flames”. At first I had the tissue paper lined up but that didn’t work. So I angled the pieces like this…
Then grab the center and flick the tissue paper so that it makes a messy triangular like shape. Just like when you’re stuffing a gift bag with tissue paper.
Make a cone with your paper and tape it in place. Then I drizzled a generous amount of hot glue inside of the cone and stuffed my tissue paper flames inside. Let it set of a few minutes and then let Alie have fun with her new Olympic torch.
Super cute, right??
I also decided to make an Olympic Memory Game for Alice. I created the card cut out sheets using PicMonkey.
