A TON of Halloween Costumes, Party Tips, Games, Recipes and More

My daughter made a comment yesterday about the Halloween decorations and costumes she saw at our local grocery store. She said, “It’s not even September and there is Halloween stuff out”! It made me remember that us bloggers run on the same “super early” schedule the stores do. So, I sat down and started to think of what I could do for a Halloween post. I realized I have SO MUCH Halloween awesomeness on here already I decided to create a single post highlighting it all. Ya know, easy to find, easy access!

Easy Christmas Art with the Dremel Micro

I am just in love with the Easy Personalized Kid Decorated Christmas Art we made with our new Dremel Micro 8050!

Easy Personalized Kid Decorated Wooden Christmas Art

Being that this was my first time using the Dremel I was pretty nervous.  Luckily there are plenty of “How To” videos on the Dremel website.

It took just a bit of trial and error to figure out engraving. The slower the speed of the Dremel the easier it is to control your lines.

I played with the different Dremel tool attachments, discovering what each one did. Have to admit that was fun!

My husband created this Christmas tree cut out from a cookie cutter.

Easy Christmas Art with Dremel

We decided to make an ornament that our daughter Alice could decorate herself.  We thought to add it to a plaque creating a keepsake decoration for Christmas that we could display year after year.

We let Alice paint the wooden Christmas tree ornament with pretty green glitter paint.

Once it was dry, I applied the hot glue and she carefully added the beads for ornaments.

Now to the wooden plaque. After tracing the letters with a pencil, I used a Dremel high speed cutter to engrave Alice’s name and the year into the wood plaque. The new LED light feature is great!

Then I painted the plaque. I discovered after I painted that I needed to sand the letters down. I carefully sanded the letters down with a Dremel sanding wheel. Then I added another coat of white.

I let Alice trace her name and the year with sparkly paint of her choice. I tried to convince her to use red but purple won. I mean, it is being decorated by her right?!

I just love how it came out! Wouldn’t it just make a wonderful present for a loved one! Perfect for Grandparents or Aunts and Uncles!

This one is MINE, though. I love it and it’s going up on my wall every year for Christmas.

Dremel offers a full line of versatile tool systems that provide the perfect solution for almost any craft, hobby or DIY project.
The Micro 8050 is the most “brilliantly powerful” and precise cordless rotary tool that Dremel has ever produced.
Light and easy to handle in tight spaces, the Dremel® Micro™8050 is packed with features that have crafters, hobbyists and DIYers in mind: soft grip, LED front-end lighting to illuminate projects, a docking station that continually charges, and an 8V Max Lithium-ion battery.
The Micro 8050 can cut, carve, engrave, sand, grind, sharpen, clean and polish—helping you bring just about any brilliant project to life.

Wood Peppermint Stick Tutorial

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am so delighted and surprised with how great this project worked out!! With the help of FrogTape Textured Surface, our Candy Cane Peppermint Stripes are PERFECT!!

For this project you will need:

Wood stakes (any size you like)

FrogTape® Textured Surface

White paint (We used exterior)

Red paint (We used apple red spray paint)

pencil and ruler

Paint your wood stakes white.

Once they are painted and dry, you will need to used your ruler and pencil to measure and mark where you would like the stripes to go.  Once your stakes are complelty dried, it’s time to get out the FrogTape®.  This is the How To Use FrogTape® part of the tutorial.

Cut strips of the tape and carefully apply on the measured marks you left on the stakes.

After your strips are placed on the stakes, you will need to rub a damp cloth over the strips of tape firmly. The tape is pretreated with PaintBlock® and this will activiate it to help ensure a good seal.

To apply the PaintBlock® Edge Sealer first, shake the bottle, then remove the top and foil. Make sure you keep all the tops. Attach the brush applicater tightly to the bottle. Apply the sealer with the brush generously over the edges you want to seal.

Once you are done applying the PaintBlock®, wash and clean the brush right away, then cover the sealer.

Allow the edge sealer to dry for 15 mintues before painting.

Once paint is dry to the touch you can remove the strips.

Can you see how FLAWLESS that line is!?? I was so surprised by how perfectly sharp the lines are. AMAZING right?

Here you can see the texture in the wood stakes before I removed the strips.

And the perfect, sharp edges made by the tape right over the texture!

PERFECT!!!!

Here is how our awesome new Peppermint Candy Sticks look in our yard!

What do y’all think? Didn’t it come out great!? I think they would made great sticks for holiday lollipops, too!

Fun Holiday Packages and Decor with EZ Start®

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I know that there are a ton of you out there that are sending packaged gifts to loved ones this holiday season. Wouldn’t it be nice to dress up those special parcels and give them a little holiday touch?

EZ Start Printed Packaging Tape has two nice holiday designs. The pretty printed tape would make any package look wonderful.

I decided to have some fun with my tape. My sister and I had so many crafty ideas. Her 7 year old daughter came up with the winning idea.

A Holiday Cookie Jar!!

Isn’t it so cute? I think it came out great and it was so easy to create! The trickiest part was the top.

I cut the tape around the corners and was able to fold it on to each other. Then I trimmed the excess tape.

After I made the cookie jar I decided to make a cute little matching banner.

It’s super cute and really easy to make!

I cut a strip about 3 inches long. Placed yarn in the middle of the strip on to the sticky side. CAREFULLY fold the strip in half sticky side to sticky side, over the yarn creating a double sided banner. I then made a small paper template to cut the banners. And VIOLA, a new cute holiday banner.

And then of course you can decorate your presents, packages and shipping packages with the tape.

Here are all the wonderful Holiday projects I created with the EZ Start® Printed Packaging Tape.

Easy and Fun Holiday Ideas using EZ Start® Printed Packaging Tape

The EZ Start® Printed Packaging Tape comes in a Daisy and Paisley patter as well as the Holiday Peppermint and Ornament pattern that I received.
