My daughter made a comment yesterday about the Halloween decorations and costumes she saw at our local grocery store. She said, “It’s not even September and there is Halloween stuff out”! It made me remember that us bloggers run on the same “super early” schedule the stores do. So, I sat down and started to think of what I could do for a Halloween post. I realized I have SO MUCH Halloween awesomeness on here already I decided to create a single post highlighting it all. Ya know, easy to find, easy access!
Some are my own, some are amazing Halloween coolness I’ve found on the web!

Is it just me or has this winter seemed like the longest one yet? I live in the south where it’s normally unbearably warm. As crazy as it sounds for a born and raised Texan, I cannot wait for the heat!!! Summer means picnics at the park, outdoor BBQ’s, beach days, hiking and then some. Alice loves to play outside. She loves to create and build and always has dirt under her nails. I’m a proud mommy of a messy girl that loves to get dirty. To me, it means she’s using her imagination, expanding her brain, getting some sun and exercising her body.
At the park, beach or the backyard, getting her clean before she eats is easy with Wet-Nap wipes! Alice and I thought of a cute and fun gift idea for those family picnics at the park or backyard BBQ parties we are sure to be invited to this summer.
We made a fun Clothespin Wreath that will hold the individually wrapped Wet-Nap Antibacterial Hand Wipes. You can give this as a gift or put up at your own party or picnic. It’s a perfect and convenient way to ensure your guests can keep there hands clean!
Creating the Clothespin Wreath is really easy. First you’ll need either a wire circle or cut out a circle from a sturdy piece of cardboard. To create the pretty clothespins, I cut strips of paper and glued them onto the clothespins. Then I positioned them and hot glued them into place. You can position them in any fashion.Once finished, I attached a strip of burlap and a box to use as a hanger. Added my new Wet-Nap Hand Wipes and hung up our new messy summer fun decor piece!
After Alice and I made our Clothespin Wreath we decided we need to get messy! Ya know, so we could try out our new wreath.
Alice LOVES to cook and so I came up with an easy homemade BBQ sauce recipe that kids can make and enjoy!
Easy delicious barbecue sauce that kids can make and enjoy!
Author: Ami Allison
Recipe type: Sauce
1 cup ketchup
4 tablespoons dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Pickapeppa Sauce
2 teaspoons garlic powder
½ teaspoon mustard powder
½ teaspoon salt
Mix ingredients in a bowl and stir until well blended. (If you don't have Pickapeppa Sauce you can use any steak sauce or Worcestershire sauce.)Then transfer sauce to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium to low heat. Once it simmers remove from heat and let it cool a bit before using.
We decided to test Alice’s new homemade BBQ sauce!! Alice wanted BBQ’d Hot Dogs and so that is what we had.
I must say, her new sauce was DELICIOUS!! We loved our BBQ’d Hot Dogs!! Cleaning up before and after eating during our backyard BBQ was easy with our new Wet-Nap Antibacterial Hand Wipes and if felt good knowing my families hands were nearly germ free!
I found the Wet-Nap Hand Wipes at Walmart for under $2, for either the canister or box of individual packets. They are a MUST for any outdoor summer fun. Throw some in your beach bag or take them along in your hiking backpack. They are a great way to keep your kids hands clean and your own, too. Click this LINK for fifty five cents ($.55) off of any Wet-Nap product!!
This cute Back to School Pencil Wreath can be used for a Back to School Party or a Back to School Photo Backdrop. It was really easy to make and I’m going to show you how!
Here is what I used.
LOTS of pencils, 2 pieces of cardboard, hot glue, white, yellow and black paint.
First, I cut out a large circle from one piece of my cardboard. BTW, I cut out my cardboard using a bowl at a stencil. I then started to place the pencils.
Its a tricky thing placing the pencils! I wanted to glue them right away and then would noticed that either they were even or I just didn’t like it.
Then this would happen. It happened quite a few times!! :/
So, eventually when I was happy with the design I actually marked each pencil so that I could put them all back on with the hot glue in the same design that I had finally decided on.
Now, I put TONS of hot glue over the pencils to glue on the top piece of cardboard.
Once the glue had dried I painted the top circle cardboard cut out. I FORGOT to take pictures of that!!! I painted the circle black, used the yellow to paint a faux ruler on the edge and used white for the letters. If you by flat or matte paint the white on black looks just like chalk. Only one layer needed!
That cute little apple my hubby made. He cut it out of card stock because I “it just needs something more”! HAHA! But seriously, that little apple was the icing!
SO cute right!?? You could make this as a gift too! Just had the teachers name, maybe something like Ms. Janet is an A+ Teacher!!
