I’m so excited to show y’all this!  I’ve been itching to do a post about it.  Just haven’t had much time.  BUT, I found a few hours and by the hair of my chiny chin chin I think I’ll make it to The Nester’s 2011 Christmas Tour of Homes!! SQUEAL!!!!

Ya see, this is our first HOUSE with Alice!  We lost our home in 06 to a house fire and have since lived in apartments.  Which is TOTALLY FINE!  It’s just this is our first home.  I didn’t do anything to extravagant.  But everything we’ve done seems extravagant to us.  Even more important is Alice is just in LOVE with our holiday home.

I decorated the top of this hall chest and added a few stockings on the wall.  My friend Kassi with Truly Lovely has an easy and awesome tutorial on how to turn an ordinary candle into a Christmas candle!  You can see how I used that here. 

Here is our tree.  Alie helped me decorate it.  I think she did a GREAT job!!

This is what the mantel looks like now with all of our stockings.  My parents and sisters family are included. 

I decided to make stocking tags instead of writing names on the stockings themselves.  I really like how they came out.

I love this purple tree.  My sister had gotten it for our mom last year.  Moms favorite color is purple.  I like that it looks kinda wintry.  I’ve placed a few cardinals on it and a couple of cardinal candles underneath.

Pun intended, I love this guy.  It’s one of the first pieces I bought after the house fire. 

I placed some pine-cones and a few snowball ornaments in this sconce.

I got these two hanging ornaments from the $ store. 

I got Alie this cute lil snowman countdown calender from Target.  I added the little maroon bow to tie it in!

I loved seeing all the ornament filled vases and decided to make one too.  I placed it beside some cute glitter 3d trees I found at Target. 

I have a Christmas basket full of pine-cones.

Also in the hall, I hung up Keek’s stocking.  

He is my beloved nephew who now spends Christmas in heaven with Jesus.  

You can read more about him here.  One day at the grocery store, I was taking out all the random things Alie had placed in the basket.  I took out a car and she instantly got upset.  Not the fussy or whiny upset but the brokenhearted upset.  When I asked her why she was so sad she told me this “that’s Keek’s car, mama.  I got it for Keek.”  Talk about a tearjerker!  Well, we got the car for Keek and it’s now in his stocking!

Speaking of my sweet Alie Marie, you have to see what her daddy did to her play house!  It’s just too cute!! He turned it into a Holiday Playhouse by adding some gold tinsel garland and the tissue paper wreath I made last year.

David decorated her lil play area and even put up an extra tree we had. 

This is what it looks like at night.  Unfortunately, we had a bad storm come thru that knocked over the tree.  I can’t get the top of the tree to light up now!!  BUT we got some MUCH NEEDED rain down here in Texas!! 

This is the front of our home.  We scored that adorable Mickey and Minnie lawn inflatable at Kroger for $23!  All the Christmas decor is 40% off right now!! 

Alie loved it so much she sat down next to it and started to play with Mickey!

So, that’s our holiday home for 2011!  I’m so happy with it!
