I sure hope all my readers are having a wonderful summer. This is my FIRST summer off as a Teacher! I gotta say, it’s pretty awesome. Being a teacher is the most wonderful job I have ever had. It is also one of the most stressful, tiring and time consuming job I have ever had! So, Summer’s off are GREAT!!! Now I can enjoy days in the summer with my family, picnic, trips to the beach, pool or spending the day at the park.

It’s hot….really hot! We have discovered the Fruttare Fruit Bars are a delicious way to cool off. They are wonderfully flavorful, a healthy dessert option and come in TEN flavors! Flavors like Strawberry & Milk, Peach & Milk, Banana & Milk, Black Cherry, Pineapple, Lime, Mango, and more! I found mine at Kroger! Starting July 1st Fruttare packages will all contain a $4 Music Reward Code. Once you’ve purchase your Fruttare click HERE to redeem your $4 Music Reward.  Reward is valid from July 1st through July 31st.

While having fun in the backyard one day, I brought out some Fruttare Fruit Bars for my daughter and her cousins to enjoy and cool off. It was HOT and the girls really enjoyed the pops but unfortunately they all became a sticky yummy mess! I thought up a quick, easy and fun way to stay mess free while enjoying pops in the hot summer sun.

I call them the DIY Summertime Popsicle Drip Catchers! They are made from colorful fun cardstock. You can incorporate them into any themed party!! How fun, right?

They were SO EASY to make. I’ll show you how.

DIY Popsicle Drip Catchers 1

You will need…..Fruttare Fruit Bars, colorful fun cardstock, a pencil, scissors, ruler and hot glue.

I cut my cardstock into squares that measured 3 3/4 inches.

DIY Popsicle Drip Catchers Tutuorial AlililyBlog.com #FruttareMusic #PMedia #ad

Then, using my ruler to score the paper I folded opposite ends at 1 inch. Then, folded the other ends at 1/2 an inch each.  Keeping the 1/2 inch folds in place, I then folded up the 1 inch sides. Now, the 1/2 inch ends you have to work just a little bit, much like wrapping a gift to get the folds just right. The ends should meet like shown above and on the inside you will have a little triangle. Hot glue that triangle up to the inside of the paper where the two ends and the triangle meet.  Then I snipped a tiny hole in the middle of the bottom where the popsicle stick will go. Once the hold was snipped I placed the scissors through to make a slit for the popsicle stick.

It’s really just like wrapping a boxed present, or a half boxed present. Once your done you will have a cute little popsicle drip catcher!

Now all you need is a backyard party, pool party, trip to the park or any fun activity that gets you outside. That is just what we did! We enjoyed the hot summer sun and cooled off with a delicious Fruttare Fruit Bar!

Messy Summer Fun with Wet-Nap!

Kid Made BBQ Sauce

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Wet-Nap but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #showusyourmess  http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Is it just me or has this winter seemed like the longest one yet?  I live in the south where it’s normally unbearably warm. As crazy as it sounds for a born and raised Texan, I cannot wait for the heat!!! Summer means picnics at the park, outdoor BBQ’s, beach days, hiking and then some.  Alice loves to play outside. She loves to create and build and always has dirt under her nails. I’m a proud mommy of a messy girl that loves to get dirty. To me, it means she’s using her imagination, expanding her brain, getting some sun and exercising her body.

At the park, beach or the backyard, getting her clean before she eats is easy with Wet-Nap wipes! Alice and I thought of a cute and fun gift idea for those family picnics at the park or backyard BBQ parties we are sure to be invited to this summer.

bbq picnic clothespin wreath

We made a fun Clothespin Wreath that will hold the individually wrapped Wet-Nap Antibacterial Hand Wipes. You can give this as a gift or put up at your own party or picnic. It’s a perfect and convenient way to ensure your guests can keep there hands clean!

clothes pin wreath tutorial

Creating the Clothespin Wreath is really easy. First you’ll need either a wire circle or cut out a circle from a sturdy piece of cardboard.  To create the pretty clothespins, I cut strips of paper and glued them onto the clothespins.  Then I positioned them and hot glued them into place. You can position them in any fashion.Once finished, I attached a strip of burlap and a box to use as a hanger. Added my new Wet-Nap Hand Wipes and hung up our new messy summer fun decor piece!

Backyard BBQ Clothespin Wreath

After Alice and I made our Clothespin Wreath we decided we need to get messy! Ya know, so we could try out our new wreath.

Alice LOVES to cook and so I came up with an easy homemade BBQ sauce recipe that kids can make and enjoy!

  • 2 tablespoons Pickapeppa Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. Mix ingredients in a bowl and stir until well blended. (If you don't have Pickapeppa Sauce you can use any steak sauce or Worcestershire sauce.)Then transfer sauce to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium to low heat. We decided to test Alice’s new homemade BBQ sauce!! Alice wanted BBQ’d Hot Dogs and so that is what we had.

Messy BBQ Summer Fun

I must say, her new sauce was DELICIOUS!! We loved our BBQ’d Hot Dogs!! Cleaning up before and after eating during our backyard BBQ was easy with our new Wet-Nap Antibacterial Hand Wipes and if felt good knowing my families hands were nearly germ free!

I found the Wet-Nap Hand Wipes at Walmart for under $2, for either the canister or box of individual packets. They are a MUST for any outdoor summer fun. Throw some in your beach bag or take them along in your hiking backpack. They are a great way to keep your kids hands clean and your own, too. Wood Peppermint Stick Tutorial

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am so delighted and surprised with how great this project worked out!! With the help of FrogTape Textured Surface, our Candy Cane Peppermint Stripes are PERFECT!!

For this project you will need:

Wood stakes (any size you like)

FrogTape® Textured Surface

White paint (We used exterior)

Red paint (We used apple red spray paint)

pencil and ruler

Paint your wood stakes white.

Once they are painted and dry, you will need to used your ruler and pencil to measure and mark where you would like the stripes to go.  Once your stakes are complelty dried, it’s time to get out the FrogTape®.  This is the How To Use FrogTape® part of the tutorial.

Cut strips of the tape and carefully apply on the measured marks you left on the stakes.

After your strips are placed on the stakes, you will need to rub a damp cloth over the strips of tape firmly. The tape is pretreated with PaintBlock® and this will activiate it to help ensure a good seal.

To apply the PaintBlock® Edge Sealer first, shake the bottle, then remove the top and foil. Make sure you keep all the tops. Attach the brush applicater tightly to the bottle. Apply the sealer with the brush generously over the edges you want to seal.

Once you are done applying the PaintBlock®, wash and clean the brush right away, then cover the sealer.

Allow the edge sealer to dry for 15 mintues before painting.

Once paint is dry to the touch you can remove the strips.

Can you see how FLAWLESS that line is!?? I was so surprised by how perfectly sharp the lines are. AMAZING right?

Here you can see the texture in the wood stakes before I removed the strips.

And the perfect, sharp edges made by the tape right over the texture!

PERFECT!!!!

Here is how our awesome new Peppermint Candy Sticks look in our yard!

What do y’all think? Didn’t it come out great!? I think they would made great sticks for holiday lollipops, too!

For this easy project I used:

White, Green and Red Cardstock

Green Food Coloring

Mod Podge Sparkle Mod Podge

I cut the foam poster board down to an easily handheld size.  Then, wrapped it in shiny gold wrapping paper.  I used my paper cutter to cut the white squares, green and red letters.

I painted a light layer of watered down green food coloring to create a boarder. I then glued the letters to the white squares and covered them in Mod Podge Sparkle.

After the letters where dry I glued them on to the shiny gold wrapped board.  Added the ribbon and bow.  I covered the red ribbon in the Mod Podge Sparkle.  The bow was glittery and once I added some sparkle it went together perfectly.
