Adorable Reversible Holiday Vest using Duck Brand® Tape

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am SO HAPPY with how adorable this vest came out! This was my sister Nori's idea and I'm so glad I used her idea.

Isn't it adorable!!?!! Alice loves it, too.

Let me show you how I made it. It was surprisingly easy to make.

First, I grabbed a shirt of Alice's and used it to trace the pattern on to a large sheet of paper. I omitted the sleeves for the vest. I traced two patterns one for the front and one for the back.

Then, I VERY CAREFULLY (this would be the trickiest part of the project) and SLOWLY cut strips of the printed Duck Brand® Tape and placed them vertically over the traced pattern on the paper. The first strip I flipped the top and bottom edges over and adhered it to the paper. Then I continued to cut strips long enough to lay over the patter and carefully layered them over the strip before. I only layered them over each other by a 1/4 of an inch. I did this until I covered the whole traced pattern. Then I repeated this process with another pattern of the Duck Brand® Tape, except this time I put sticky side to sticky side and placed the strips horizontally.

I did this for both traced patterns. Once both sides of the Duck Tape fabric is made I used the traced pattern I thought was closest to the correct size and cut it out. Then I used that cut out as a stencil to cut out the other half of the vest pattern.

I then placed the cut out paper pattern over the Duck Tape fabric and cut it to form each piece of the pattern.

Then I placed the two pieces together and used a hole punch to punch holes in to the sides and tops where the shoulders would be.  I used white yarn and tied both sides together. After the pieces were together I then cut the front piece straight down the center and cut out a v neckline at the top.

SO EASY!! Honestly, it is!

Now, because we used two different patters, your new holiday vest is reversible!!! Which you know anything that has two looks in one is just too cool!!

We have the Duck Brand® Tape Seasonal Sweets side of the vest!

Then you just flip the vest inside out and TADA!!! You have the super adorable Duck Brand® Tape Penguin side!!

SO ADORABLE!!! I can't wait to make more!!

Besides the super cute penguin pattern and the pretty seasonal sweets pattern, Duck Brand® holiday prints also come in Snowman, Holiday Bows and many seasonal colors.

Wood Peppermint Stick Tutorial

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am so delighted and surprised with how great this project worked out!! With the help of FrogTape Textured Surface, our Candy Cane Peppermint Stripes are PERFECT!!

For this project you will need:

Wood stakes (any size you like)

FrogTape® Textured Surface

White paint (We used exterior)

Red paint (We used apple red spray paint)

pencil and ruler

Paint your wood stakes white.

Once they are painted and dry, you will need to used your ruler and pencil to measure and mark where you would like the stripes to go.  Once your stakes are complelty dried, it’s time to get out the FrogTape®.  This is the How To Use FrogTape® part of the tutorial.

Cut strips of the tape and carefully apply on the measured marks you left on the stakes.

After your strips are placed on the stakes, you will need to rub a damp cloth over the strips of tape firmly. The tape is pretreated with PaintBlock® and this will activiate it to help ensure a good seal.

To apply the PaintBlock® Edge Sealer first, shake the bottle, then remove the top and foil. Make sure you keep all the tops. Attach the brush applicater tightly to the bottle. Apply the sealer with the brush generously over the edges you want to seal.

Once you are done applying the PaintBlock®, wash and clean the brush right away, then cover the sealer.

Allow the edge sealer to dry for 15 mintues before painting.

Once paint is dry to the touch you can remove the strips.

Can you see how FLAWLESS that line is!?? I was so surprised by how perfectly sharp the lines are. AMAZING right?

Here you can see the texture in the wood stakes before I removed the strips.

And the perfect, sharp edges made by the tape right over the texture!

PERFECT!!!!

Here is how our awesome new Peppermint Candy Sticks look in our yard!

What do y’all think? Didn’t it come out great!? I think they would made great sticks for holiday lollipops, too!

Send Holiday Love with Open Me Cards

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Open Me, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #OpenMeHoliday  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

The holidays are here and I have loved ones that live far away.  I wont see them this Christmas.  It’s so nice to know that I can pick and choose, personalize and even add photos to a great selection of online E Cards through OpenMe.com. What’s so great about Open Me is, not only can you send personalized E Cards, but you can choose to print the cards you create for as low as $2 and Open Me will deliver them for you! You can also buy a pack of cards and Open Me will send the cards you choose along with envelopes and stamps for you to send out. Sounds pretty awesome right?

open me They have more than just Holiday cards!  Open Me Cards have Friendship, Encouragement, Love, Birthday and Thank You cards.  All can be personalized with your own messages.

I browsed around knowing I wanted to send a special card to my sister Kari and my brother Jaddy, my sister in law Julie and my sweet nephew Jayden. My sister and my brother both live in Phoenix with their families.  My family and I miss them terribly. Jayden who just turned 4 and my 5 yr old daughter Alice are absolutely the very best of friends.  See, Alice was 1 year old when Jayden was born and they’ve spent over two years growing up together.  Now being so far apart, I wish they could spend more time together.

Aren’t they so precious? My sister Kari and my brother Jaddy are in the middle pic with Jayden and Alice on the carousel.

You can choose to send a single card or make multiple cards to send to a few loved ones. I chose to send this card to both my sister and her family, and my brother and his family.  After I entered their email addresses, I began to personalize my card.  There are several fonts to choose from for your personal message. open me 5

Then I clicked on Front View and added my picture. You can choose to upload a picture from your computer or from your photos on Facebook.

Fun Holiday Packages and Decor with EZ Start®

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Duck Brand provided by ShurTech Brands, LLC for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I know that there are a ton of you out there that are sending packaged gifts to loved ones this holiday season. Wouldn’t it be nice to dress up those special parcels and give them a little holiday touch?

EZ Start Printed Packaging Tape has two nice holiday designs. The pretty printed tape would make any package look wonderful.

I decided to have some fun with my tape. My sister and I had so many crafty ideas. Her 7 year old daughter came up with the winning idea.

A Holiday Cookie Jar!!

Isn’t it so cute? I think it came out great and it was so easy to create! The trickiest part was the top.

I cut the tape around the corners and was able to fold it on to each other. Then I trimmed the excess tape.

After I made the cookie jar I decided to make a cute little matching banner.

It’s super cute and really easy to make!

I cut a strip about 3 inches long. Placed yarn in the middle of the strip on to the sticky side. CAREFULLY fold the strip in half sticky side to sticky side, over the yarn creating a double sided banner. I then made a small paper template to cut the banners. And VIOLA, a new cute holiday banner.

And then of course you can decorate your presents, packages and shipping packages with the tape.

Here are all the wonderful Holiday projects I created with the EZ Start® Printed Packaging Tape.

Easy and Fun Holiday Ideas using EZ Start® Printed Packaging Tape

The EZ Start® Printed Packaging Tape comes in a Daisy and Paisley patter as well as the Holiday Peppermint and Ornament pattern that I received.
